PregSense Monitor

Many expectant mothers anxiously await results from checkups. With the help of one new product, however, women might be able to check in on their babies without waiting for doctor visits.

This new, wearable product that was developed in Israel will allow women to monitor their unborn babies and view data on a smartphone app.

According to Reuters, the new product, called PregSense (available for purchase late this year, $250 USD), uses an elastic harness with built-in sensors that the expectant woman wears around her belly. The monitor will use Bluetooth to transmit data about both the mother and the baby to a smartphone.

Disclaimer: It is not meant to eliminate the roles of your health care providers, but it may put moms-to-be in their last trimester at ease with its continuous monitoring, as well as being able to pin point early complications such as pre-eclampsia and pre-term labor.
